They try to tell me

that it is not  the hormones

fed to the animals       I ate

they try to tell me that

the hormones             they fed the animals   

to make them grow      unnatural
would not harm me

would not make my insides

bleed

but they are bleeding

and no one can tell me

why             why

they say

they must control       my hormones

they must feed me

hormones                to control me

because my body is 

unnatural

the hormones will not    hurt me 

they say

I am    too emotional

and that I must  endure

the pain inside         and the unnatural

bleeding

bleeding         for days       on end 

unstoppable

they can not tell me 

why 

I bleed         they assure     me that 

it will          not harm me and         I must

continue        to eat   the hormones and

take even        more hormones   because

they can not    control me

they can not    control my body

I do not want to grow unnaturally 

for slaughter

I do not want to bleed inside

I don not want hormones to 

control me

I am not emotional      

I know they are feeding me 

harmful things   in order to 

control me

to take my money        and not

the responsibility

instead they have       feed me

estrogen 

in my food      in little pills         they assure me       

it is safe
